Peace for Korea, Latitude 38° North

I wish all of us a good future in a safe world and I hope that North and South Korea will together reconcile their differences as good sisters should and heal the wounds of this long and painful artificial separation of a lovely and very meaningful country and people.

No one ever thought there would be a reconciliation between East and West Germany and yet now there is one Germany again. No one ever thought there would be a reconciliation between North and South Vietnam, and yet now there is one Vietnam again.

The more we sponsor dialogue and understanding, the more we consciously analyse how an action has many perspectives to view it from, the more we promote a potential for re-unification.

The more we talk of war to  'fix' things, the worse and more dangerous for everyone the whole world gets. Latitude 38° N, the demarcation between South and North was a creation of the USSR and the USA as a temporary border for the two 2 trusteeships.

The USSR went away long ago. It is time for the US 'temporary trustees' to go away also. Well past time. Then there can be some hope of peace, and some hope for one real, strong, abiding stable Korea.
