China Then & Now, the time of Communism; and the consumer age now
For many good people in China who are in their 60s and 70s, so many look back on the time of pure communism, the Red Brigades of the Cultural Revolution, and the general life under Mao, and the pure hard egalitarianism of the epoch, as the great time in their lives, for sure; it involved the removal of the evil landlords, who were real, & the general betterment that came to everyone because of that, in an egalitarian China where no one was rich. It is not like that now, but the memory is persistent enough to add controlling influence to the present and to still positively influence the future of this wonderful nation.
