John Fitzpatrick. About New China, the Koreas, Myanmar, Thailand, and also about Japanese and Chinese writers and poets. The main emphasis is on North Asia and the political tectonics of this very important, powerful, and many-peopled area.

here's 'a real dream' from the other night. i was in the front yard of a small 2 bedroom house in Smithfield Heights, behind a white wall and orange gate. God was a bird, a white dove, with a hawk's head, and an open mind...and it flew from the sea and landed on the white wall, so I invited the god-bird in to the yard and pointed out the water fountain, the small pool, and the motorbike. Then the god-bird jumped down and stood on my dog Phil's head, and Phil didn't mind, then the god bird played with Inky, the kitten's tail, and Inky didn't mind, then the god bird flew up on my shoulder, and we went inside and I pointed out the various floors...polished sandstone, and the white shutters and the kitchen, and we did a tour of the small house. Then I opened the back Japanese screen door and the god-bird, after having a few sips of water from a saucer, flew out and up and over Saddle Mountain. Such a lovely dream.
