on we go, all of us, the bright, the simple, the good, the evil, the sane, the mad, all of equal meaning, all seeking out some brief perfect satisfactions. This is us. Has always been us, will always be us... at our combining best and worst and all in the middle. This is the Human Condition, and I like it.

I do believe that the world is not going to end for millions of years and I do believe that no one is going to hell no matter what we do. This is the best position to do some good. Why do some good? Because it is within our collective human nature, as equally and real as doing harm is...and half of us find doing some good sometimes reasonably satisfying. There are a lot of people who find enormous satisfaction in doing harm...this is the human Condition...we find different satisfactions that suit us, and, indeed, fulfil us in our reasonably long, reasonably brief, lifetimes.

The United Selfies of America

Regarding MOSUL: I bet that within the next FOUR days, just before the US Presidential election date, the US/Iraqis (on CNN) will find some poor small girl in the rubble and race her away to a nice hospital...and even give her fast track American citizenship...after butchering her parents... They will blame ISIS for using these children as human shields, although, mind you, after the constant US total saturation bombing of the whole city (it is the only way to be sure)...after they've told everyone to stay in their own homes...and then bombed them...I bet the US finds a nice spin in it just before election day, just for a day... Why? Because that's exactly the kind of people they are, and they have the kind of Government they like. It makes them feel Good. Their self esteem is very important to them.

Regarding career choices in retrospect...as the most intelligent and most fluent creative living writer of the English language, the London novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, noted..."I could have had another life, but I am having this one."

Noting some American Universities have begun courses in rooting out (interesting expression) Toxic Masculinity.

Well, I found a CV on the hidden expansion drive from a few years ago, so didn't have to resort to asking the Russians for a copy. I also found a picture of my writing Workboard from Thailand when i spent a few years writing my books. Fascinating machinations.
