John Fitzpatrick. About New China, the Koreas, Myanmar, Thailand, and also about Japanese and Chinese writers and poets. The main emphasis is on North Asia and the political tectonics of this very important, powerful, and many-peopled area.

I always had doubts about my lack of wisdom in buying the last of the line 2015 Nissan Navara Common Rail 2.5 Turbo Diesel D22 4x4 Dual Cab Ute Pick Up...so outdated, new and yet fundamentally unchanged from 1998...yet so cheap to run, so solid, so easy to fix...and the run out price was great...and I bought it anyway...and then worried about paying for it...and still do... Now, as things are working out, it is a pretty well perfect vehicle for the 3000km East Coast Australian Adventure Journey for Mrs Fitz and I from Cairns to Melbourne...a journey unimagined when I bought it. Life is quite good sometimes...some quizzical imperfect notions do work out well. This will be a nice strong reliable way to see, over 7 days or so, a fair bit of the Australian East Coast, through 3 states, for Mrs Fitz, for sure, for the first time, at the best time of year, and for me, and I will take the very good Manta boogie board and Churchill flippers in the tray.... for Noosa, Byron Bay, Newcastle, Narrabeen, Tathra, Bells Beach, etc all the good surf spots en route. Amazing surprisingly unexpected life development...and one that...includes....surfing the best surf on earth! Roll on, Brave New World, Roll on!
Did you notice that when emails emerged with Hillary wanting to 'drone/kill' Julian Assange, an Australian citizen, from Townsville, without any trial, that the Australian Government didn't comment or complain at all....obsequious...facile, creepy little snivelling government it is. "An Australian Citizen? Nothing to do with us..." says Australian Government...and the Australian Opposition agrees. "To come out and say what our position is on the killing of Julian Assange, without trial, by our American friends, we would first need to ask America what we should say...and if it is okay to say anything."
