"Hey, Johno, how's the new spotlights on the ute?" "Brilliant."

I just read something somewhere on facebook...Grandpa died yesterday at 2.33 am. Were people walking around the bed with a stopwatch? Did they synchronise their Swiss timepieces beforehand? Was there an Atomic Clock in the room? Time isn't precious, only life is precious, and it's only precious because it ends...and the person's heart stops in a silence without annoying repetitive chimes. They have gone beyond time. Go to the window, open it, not to let the spirit out, as the fearful people do...but open the window wide so you can breathe in at last, after the emptiness of death, and acknowledge the breeze of the future arising to fill you.

After due consideration and discussion with Breanna on Facebook, I realise I have been going on a bit about those dang Americanese...I'm not going to say any more about them. the 'singularity of experience' that bonds both Americans and Australians is not cultural at all, nor racial, nor traditional, it is that the Americans are about to choose the worst or second worst of themselves to be their President, and we have already elected our worst parasites here as Prime Minister and Opposition leader. Roll on brave new world, roll on.

I recall Charlie Chaplin when faced with the horror of Adolf Hitler in Germany noted...'but don't forget the positive side. He will die one day'. it is a potent truth that can obviously be gladly applied to Trump, to Clinton, and here to our "Leaders"  also.

Haven't been out of the house except to go to work for awhile so it was nice to be in the sun and go to Rusty's market today. Bought a chorizo hot dog with jalapeños; then went with Mrs Fitz around the fruit stalls. Nice colourful stuff, fruit. Noticed all the local high fashions of Cairns...the blokes in TShirts and cargo shorts, and caps on their head turned backwards (Doesn't any one ever tell them? hey, dickhead, your head is on backwards). The girls dressed pretty much the same, but looking a bit better. Felt a vague social phobia coming over me but then brushed that away...it's just the angst of existing. It's not so bad...when you get used to it.

I didn't buy coffee to go with the chorizo hot dog. I make much better coffee than I can buy in cafes etc.

I know the Americans do feel as though someone is meddling in their precious and bizarre election of who they hate less, but it is only them meddling. It is remarkable to see cringing paranoia on such a national scale. They are the world leaders in meddling in foreign elections, because, as we know, they are Exceptional, but unfortunately all their meddling does is make things much worse. And when it comes to downright illegal invasion, well, they are head and shoulders above anyone else in the past 70 years. A remarkable legacy of invasion and incompetence combined...thus Iraq, ISIS, Libya, Afghanistan, now Syria, and before that there was Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Nicaragua etc etc. That's a hell of a lot of wars in a very short time span...and all, apparently, on the basis of Democracy without ever bringing about democracy in any of those countries. Currently the USA, the world's only Super Power, and it truly is, is bombing six different countries in the world for the good of the people being bombed. The best and only people who can solve a problem in a country are the people in that country. These solutions have a chance of lasting awhile. These people have a vested interest and a need to somehow compromise rather than go to extremes...but they will be pushed to extremes as soon as a foreign devil militarily invades their country, that's for sure, as we would also.
