Peace for Korea, Latitude 38° North

I wish all of us a good future in a safe world and I hope that North and South Korea will together reconcile their differences as good sisters should and heal the wounds of this long and painful artificial separation of a lovely and very meaningful country and people.

No one ever thought there would be a reconciliation between East and West Germany and yet now there is one Germany again. No one ever thought there would be a reconciliation between North and South Vietnam, and yet now there is one Vietnam again.

The more we sponsor dialogue and understanding, the more we consciously analyse how an action has many perspectives to view it from, the more we promote a potential for re-unification.

The more we talk of war to  'fix' things, the worse and more dangerous for everyone the whole world gets. Latitude 38° N, the demarcation between South and North was a creation of the USSR and the USA as a temporary border for the two 2 trusteeships.

The USSR went away long ago. It is time for the US 'temporary trustees' to go away also. Well past time. Then there can be some hope of peace, and some hope for one real, strong, abiding stable Korea.

Abraham Lincoln and the USA of the 21st Century

I think there was a time when America, the USA, was a good country to the world and to its own people.

But that was a long time ago now and when I see the USA always so willing to put its best young men in the line of fire for an ideology or a friend that changes by the week, based on evidence that has to be created, and I see the proliferation of weapons and killings within America then I am reminded of Lincoln's words as I believe America is in the process of the great self harm that he describes.

I do believe that people have a right to suicide, but not to take everyone else with them.
Abraham Lincoln felt no foreign power could ever defeat the United States. He said, "From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some trans-Atlantic military giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never...No, if destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men we will live forever or die by suicide."

My Favourite Foods

I have 2 favourite foods...one is the pork bellies that Mao Loved...cooked by my wife
and the other is roasted Lamb Shank cooked by Arab terrorists craftily masquerading as excellent chefs and restauranteurs in Soi Sam Sukhumvit, Krung Thep Mahanakorn...aka Bangkok.

Now here is a very nice example of a Chinese Manifestation of a Russian Manifestation of a BMW WW2 German Wermacht twin motorcyle, photo 2 years ago in Southern China

Kim Jong Un 2013

Just to get to the top of the hardest cruellest system on earth (apart from Saudi Arabia) and be 29 and ready to take on the world, that's some kind of person for sure.

To be the least likely son, and then to come through...wow.I don't have to like him, but he has survived a lot of assassinations at ages when you and I were just catching the bus to school worried about the brown paper on our exercise books, to get to where he is now.

You don't have to like him to appreciate that he is someone worthy of confronting. He knows the game of war and peace every day of his life, and he's survived and come to the top, and he intends to be there til he's 80, and I reckon he's got a 70% chance of doing so.

I think that like many things we don't like in the world...Christians...Buddhists...car salesmen...hard to open soft drinks...when the dog runs off with the TV remote control and buries it in the yard... etc etc we'll just have to get used to Kim Jong Un being here with us, and being really annoying, as we are to him. Let us see who is smarter and who survives longer.
