The fall of the social-democratic Labor Party in Australia
These are grim days for the states or provinces of Australia with four of them now abandoning the Labor Party as governments and moving even more to the right. It's what happens when mining companies firmly rule a country. It's a shame, I believe. Not only the loss of the one social-democratic voice in each state but also the way the national Govt, a Labor Party Govt has bent to the will of the mining companies to the extent that they have; becoming a defacto and corrupted entity.

putin and america
i notice that after the americans condemned the possible re-election of vladimir putin for so long, as being so corrupt and deeply evil, now that he is re-elected, wow, they want to make really big deals with him, to bind the USA and Russia together for many years to come... oh america... a whole national morality based upon a 3 month marketing strategy... what was america once? was it really, when you look at it, ever that?
sure, the soviet union had gulags, to control the masses with fear, but america still has a nation incapable of anything except... short term advertising strategies.
