John Fitzpatrick. About New China, the Koreas, Myanmar, Thailand, and also about Japanese and Chinese writers and poets. The main emphasis is on North Asia and the political tectonics of this very important, powerful, and many-peopled area.

All in all, the third and final US Presidential Debate was quite good and was effectively held together by the moderator. When one looked at the Presidential Poise aspect, Hillary was quite good, but when you looked at the Content, Donald actually had much better ideas and far fewer expensive mad war-like horror ideas. I tend to prefer thinking that does not include horror and invasion as the first choice in dealing with international issues.
I expect many Australians who believe deeply that they are or wish to be somehow profoundly "Apprentice Wannabe Americans" will support Clinton. Fortunately, the election is only open to the Americanese themselves. I wish the Americanese well in working out what is best for all of them in their own nation...and I deeply hope they stop fucking up the world for the rest of us.
As for the Russians plotting to ruin the US elections...well, really? Hillary Clinton lies so well. 17 US government and Private agencies are saying the Russians are doing it...but would those organisations be allowed to say otherwise? Really? Only Russia? Not China? Not Europe? Not the UK? Not the master hackers of Wikileaks? And why are these American government agencies saying this? So they don't have to acknowledge the great work being done by Julian Assange, that boy, our blonde haired boy, from Townsville in providing some objective truth into the unholy mix.
For me, personally, as an Australian, I would support Trump because he is less likely to make war and more likely to concentrate on America. His foreign policies indicate he wishes to move the massively expensive military operations out of Asia and that would be very very good for Asia. the Phillipine people don't want the US bases there...Japanese people don't want the US bases there...but America holds strong hegemony over them. Although Hillary and Obama talk of peace, they are currently waging war in 6 countries, and they are not dropping billions of dollars of bombs on villages because it is somehow good for the villagers or the countries attacked...it is simply good for 'American interests' i.e. friends of the American Government. As the Chinese note : When it comes to America, don't listen to what they say, look at what they do. 280 million unexploded bombs still lying around in Laos, a country they say they never bombed at all. 280 million bombs. A good hundred million unexploded bombs lying around Afghanistan waiting for some kid to go for a walk. That's America...That's what they do.
As for Mosul, America (and Australia) are currently destroying that city of a million people thus creating 900,000 brand new refugees...why? To catch 7,000 ISIS people...and to fit in with the American elections. That's how seriously America values the suffering of others. That is Obama/Clinton foreign policy at work. It's disgraceful. It's sick. It's real.
The Debate: The US ECONOMY: As for the domestic issues in the USA neither candidate can deal with the issues of the national debt and so don't like to talk about how hard the future will be for Americans no matter who wins. The 2008 GFC isn't even half way through yet. Trump & Clinton: Both Failed. The MILITARY: America is dwindling in power and importance simply because it has spent too much money for too long. The current war in Iraq is being funded by money America borrowed from China. More engagement/war (no fly zones) by Americans will simply invade destroy more places and people, cost billions and create horror and more hotbeds of terror. It is good to talk with people...Russians, Syrian Govt etc. Trump won. ABORTION: Domestic issues regarding abortion in America are domestic American issues that they will deal with in some way as best suits that chorus of secular/religious voices. They both won for their particular supporters, Clinton the secular, Trump, the christians. IMMIGRATION: Huge Immigration for America is a very good thing...as it would be for Australia. Clinton won.
